  • Inspect suspension and steering components
  • Inspect tires for uneven wear and damage

  • Replace oil drain plug gasket
  • Rotate and balance tires
  • Service battery terminals

12,000-Mile Interval

At the 12,000-mile interval, this is a more encompassing service check, which includes all of the service checks listed in the 6,000-mile interval. During this time, the steering and suspension will be inspected, as well as your braking and clutch systems. It’s recommended to have the air filter in your Subaru vehicle’s HVAC system switched out. This is when the oil change and tire rotation takes place.

24,000-Mile Interval

30,000-Mile Interval

The 30,000-mile mark is when the intensive maintenance check takes place. A few services that take place include the brake fluid and the air filter will get replaced. Next, an inspection of the drive belt, cooling system, and fuel system will take place. If your Outback has a manual transmission, then the clutch and transmission fluid will get replaced.

This maintenance check will take place again in 30 months or after you have driven another 30,000 miles.
